Everything you’ve wanted to ask a Webflow designer, finally answered!

If you’re a small business owner or entrepreneur getting ready to invest in a website, chances are… you’ve got questions. And you’re not alone. I hear many of the same web design questions from clients who want to make sure they’re making the right decisions, whether they’re starting from scratch or refreshing an existing site.

So today, I’m pulling back the curtain and sharing the most common questions I get as a Webflow Designer — along with honest, clear answers to help you move forward with confidence.

1. How long does it take to build a website?

It depends on the scope of your project. But generally:

  • Template customization: 1–2 weeks
  • Custom website design: 3–6 weeks
  • Larger or multi-page sites: 6–8+ weeks

What speeds things up?

  • Having your content (copy & images) ready
  • Timely feedback and communication
  • A clear vision of what you want (but I can help with that too!)
💡 Tip: A discovery call helps us map out a realistic timeline that works for both of us. Do you want to have a quick call to discuss? Feel free to book a slot on my Calendly.

2. What’s the difference between a custom website and a template?

This one comes up a lot, and here’s the quick answer:

  • Template-based sites use a pre-designed layout that we customize with your branding, content, and colors.
  • Custom websites are designed completely from scratch to match your goals, audience, and business needs.

Which one should you choose?

If you’re on a tighter budget or need something fast, a template might be the way to go. But if you want a standout online presence built with strategy and UX in mind — custom is worth it.

3. Why do you use Webflow instead of other platforms?

Great question! I choose Webflow because it offers:

  • Visual design freedom without the bloat
  • Built-in SEO tools
  • Clean code (great for page speed and Google rankings)
  • CMS for blog posts, portfolios, and more
  • Easy handoff so YOU can manage the site if you want to

It’s a platform that blends beauty, performance, and flexibility — and my clients love how intuitive it feels once they get the hang of it.

4. Can I update my site myself after it’s live?

Absolutely. Webflow’s Editor mode lets you:

  • Swap out text and images
  • Add blog posts
  • Edit links and buttons
  • Update product or service info

Plus, I include video tutorials or even a live walkthrough to make sure you feel confident managing your site. You're never stuck.

5. What do I need to prepare before we start?

To keep the project moving smoothly, I recommend you have:

  • Your brand assets (logo, color palette, typography)
  • Website copy (or be ready to collaborate with a copywriter)
  • Professional photos or stock images
  • Clear goals (What do you want this site to do for your business?)

If you’re not sure about any of the above — no worries. I walk you through it during the strategy phase or offer a content planning workbook to help.

If you want Branding services, I offer those services as well. I will talk with you about the goals for your business, your target audience, your competitors, positioning and strategy.

6. Do you write the content too?

While I don’t do full copywriting, I do help you with:

  • Structuring your content
  • Refining headlines and CTAs
  • Editing your copy for clarity and conversion
  • Collaborating with a copywriter if you need one

If you're totally stuck with content, I offer a Website Content Planning Workbook as a freebie and as part of some packages.

7. What’s included in your web design packages?

Each project is a little different, but most packages include:

  • Website strategy & planning
  • Visual branding support
  • Custom Webflow design
  • Mobile responsive layout
  • Foundational SEO setup
  • CMS setup (if needed)
  • Post-launch support + tutorials

You can check out all my services here. I also offer audits and smaller launch packages for those just getting started.

8. Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! I know web design is an investment, so I typically offer:

  • 50/50 split (start and launch)
  • 3-part payment plan (for larger projects)
  • Custom plans upon request (we’ll chat!)

This way, we can make it work within your budget and timeline.

9. Will my website show up on Google?

Yes, but SEO is a long game — not a one-and-done thing.

I set up your site with:

  • SEO-friendly tags & structure
  • Mobile optimization
  • Fast page load speed
  • Clean code & metadata

I also guide you on how to blog, optimize for keywords, and continue improving your SEO over time. If you need a content strategy, I offer that too.

10. What kind of clients do you work with?

I mostly work with:

  • B2B SaaS services
  • Coaches & Consultants
  • Service providers
  • Creatives & Wellness brands
  • Small businesses & Solopreneurs

What they all have in common: They’re purpose-driven, ready to grow, and want a website that works as hard as they do.

If you want a site that reflects your unique brand, connects with dream clients, and grows your business — you're in the right place.

Still have questions? Let’s talk! I offer free discovery calls where we can walk through your goals, vision, and whether we’re a good fit.

Your website doesn’t have to be confusing or overwhelming. With the right partner and a clear plan, it can be one of the best investments you make for your business.
